A collection of my recent twitter musings from the last few months.
This is a short blog post to publish the pdfs of my recent thinking on twitter, since my last blog post of 2020. In the last few months I have been productive in producing twitter threads on various topics and it is beyond time I shard them on here.
There will be no order to how the pdfs are presented. Do forgive me if I accidentally type PDA instead of PDF, it is an easy mistake to make.
There are various topics covered in the PDFs, ranging from why I think PDA should be viewed (even if only temporarily) as a form of OCD and Related Disorders, to how I think PDA is about stress management. There are two threads in there explaining the rationale behind two other diagrams I have recently developed.
The first shows how PDA compares to the DSM-5 autism criteria.
The second shows how PDA compares to other conditions.
I hope people find them useful.
This is the version of the presentation by O’Nions and Happe at the 2011 PDA conference by the National Autistic Society. It matters due to providing a research agenda that has (at least in some cases) been used to view PDA as part of the autism spectrum.
